A sneak peek at Reed Krakoff Fall 2012

If you’re a regular reader, you know how we feel about Reed Krakoff around here – we’re fans, to say the least. Not only are the bags the perfect mixture of trends and traditionalism, but the line’s price point makes many of Krakoff’s options accessible where a similar bag from an equivalent brand might cost hundreds more. That’s not to say that the brand does turn out the occasional fantasy piece, but largely, Krakoff’s bags are a fantastic option for a chic woman who wants to look both professional and stylish.

Reed Krakoff Fall 2012 continues in the company’s newly minted tradition, with colorblocked neutrals, the occasional punch of bright color and luxurious materials all around. After the jump, we have a preview of what’s to come from the collection, from a brand new Boxer Tote in bright fuchsia to the Atlantique re-imagined in staid ivory and tan.

the black alligator shoulder hobo with the light yellow detailing just ooozes extravagance !

  • Babs

    I like the fushcia Boxer…but I can’t bring myself to spend $1,000+ on a bag that’s made in China…

    • gpc

I so agree Babs.  I actually really like the bags too, but have always passed for this very reason…

      • tmama

Most bags are made in china (even the ones that say Italy/France etc.  They simply put on finising touches to maintain the made in Italy/France etc label.  Read the book How Luxury Losts in Lusture.

I meant its luster…not enough coffee yet. :)

Many bags that say Italy or France are actually majority manufactured in China, as tmama mentioned. Just like any country, manufacturers in China can be low quality or high quality, but as long as Krakoff maintains the integrity of its process, I don’t personally think that country of origin is a reason to pass on a bag that you otherwise love. What those tags say actually guarantees very little.

I like the neutral colorblock bag. It’s so unexpected. I love light colors in the fall.

The line is fantastic.  The bags are assembled in China but the skins are from Italy.  I own several of his bags.

  • JolieLaide

Most handbags nowadays are made in China only a certain percentage needs to be assembled to be considered “made in Italy”. Prada-made in China, Celine- made in China, Miu Miu-made in India. The same factory that makes the Alexander Wang bags in China also make Prada and Celine.

I would like the black alligator hobo to wear around roughly until it relaxed in a bit. I would love that style silly!

  • Doll house Boutique Sydney

I went to Doll House to get my dress and they promised they would get it in. I was so upset when they didn’t come through for me so I went Sassy Boutique. They were able to get my dress within three 3 days. They had wonderful customer service and nothing was a problem for them. I really appreciated the effort they made to make my night memorable. i will never go to dollhouse again.
