Get ready! KEXP will take over the Ballard neighborhood for the third time on Friday, May 20th! During our 2010 Ballard listeners stepped up to win the Hood to Hood Challenge and KEXP is excited to give the Ballard people what they want!
KEXP will broadcast all day from The Sunset Tavern with live DJ sets from John Richards, Cheryl Waters and Kevin Cole and this year we will continue into Shake the Shack with Dr Leon Berman! You can expect performances from David Bazan, Shabazz Palaces, Buffalo Tom, special guests and more! Also, we added an afternoon musical delight! Special intimate acoustic performances from Jason Dodson of The Maldives and BOAT!

Cupcake Royale will be on site at The Sunset offering free Maple Bacon Babycakes with the purchase of a coffee till 10am! They’ll actually be on site all day with $1 off Cupcakes and only in the AM Babycakes will be available for $1.50!!

You think we’re done?! Yeah right! KEXP loves to party! KEXP Members can take advantage of discounts around the Ballard neighborhood. Now here’s the cherry! KEXP DJs will be spinning sets at Harlow’s, Hazelwood, BalMar, Ocho, Portalis Wine Shop & Bar and Hattie’s Hat and hosting showcases at Conor Bryne, The Tractor and The Sunset into the evening!
We also added a food drive for the Ballard Food Bank! You can drop off donations at the KEXP tent located in Bergen Place park from 10am-5pm. All of this is our way of thanking the Ballard neighborhood for their generous support. Also on the same day Cascade Bicycle Club will be hosting the annual Bike to Work After party from 4-7pm in Bergen Place! The heart of Ballard will turn into a bike street party with tons of fun things to do!
