>> Both the boy and I have been enamoured with French knitwear designer Xavier Brisoux for different reasons. He, for the propsect that Brisoux offers up as an interesting knitwear designer for men. Me, for the clever simplicity that Brisoux seems to have perfected with his compact collections that started off concentrating on menswear but then eventually became unisex (notice how that's the way it normally goes... I blame our greediness...). Brisoux honed his skills at Anne Valerie Hash but struck out on his own to create pieces that he personally describes as "99 per cent wool, 1 per cent unfathomable". He's offering up a rich collection for A/W 10-11, what with it being season that's more amenable to knitwear but for S/S 10, it's his experimenations with a sheer texture that has me wanting a back...
...that looks like this...
The knit is apparently achieved with a totally transparent polyamide yarn mixed with a cotton yarn that creates this amazing mesh-like knit. Brisoux was a clever chappie for placing the knit to create this sheer back...
...I even like it as an all-round crew-neck jumper though erm... don't think the public is quite ready for full on nip-nip action yet...
