Actress Diane Kruger stepped out this week in a chambray skirt with buttons down the front. While her skirt could work in a variety of ensembles, she gave it a vintage feel by combining it with a printed bustier crop top and straw fedora hat. Diane also wore flat sandals and a red crossbody bag with gold detailing for a pop of color in keeping with the outfit’s vintage vibe.
By wearing her skirt high on her waist, Diane keeps the bustier crop top from looking overly suggestive, and thus creates an ensemble that is appropriate for the daytime — this look would be perfect on a hot day when you’re trying to keep cool.

A chambray skirt with brass buttons is surprisingly versatile: When I first saw this skirt, I imagined more of a preppy look to accompany it, but the skirt looks vintage-inspired when worn with a floral cropped bustier top. Some flat sandals (these have fun metallic lacing) are a comfortable yet cute footwear option discount coach handbags, and a fedora hat with a colored fabric brim plays up the ensemble’s summery vibe. Finally, a red crossbody bag adds a solid pop of color to complete the outfit.
Look #2: Kristin Cavallari’s Boho Maxi Skirt Look

Kristin Cavallari opted for a bohemian look this week by wearing a bold, tribal-print maxi skirt and fringe bag, keeping the rest of the look casual by wearing a simple white V-neck t-shirt. She kept her accessories fairly simple, opting for aviator sunglasses and a long pendant necklace. The whole look is very effortless and incorporates numerous summer trends, namely maxi skirts and tribal prints.

To recreate Kristin’s look, pick out a maxi skirt with a bold print — the skirt I chose is sheer, which adds a fun and unique element?and shows a bit of leg. (Most skirts like this come with a slip that is the length of a mini skirt, but if not, you can always substitute your own slip.) A simple white t-shirt or tank top is not only an easy option, but a smart pick, as it won’t outshine the bold skirt. A large fringed bag keeps with the bohemian vibe, and aviator sunglasses will protect your eyes on a sunny day.
Look #3: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Daytime Classic Look

Model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked classic and pretty while out to lunch in NYC this week. Her skirt of choice was a flowy mint green mid-length skirt, paired with a silky cropped blouse and a statement-making red handbag. The soft fabrics and colors, combined with the classic silhouette of her outfit, give a ladylike appearance, especially with the addition of her cat-eye sunglasses.

Finding a mint green mid-length skirt is not an easy task right now, so keep in mind that a skirt in a soft color and similar shape would be an equally beautiful option. The skirt I found has a faint dotted print, but is similar in color to Rosie’s skirt. (I adore mint green!)
