Rouge Automatique is very comparable to the Rouge G formula, and the differences are minute, though they are there. This is an excellent formula regardless of that comparison, though, because it’s creamy enough to glide on but not so creamy that the color slips around, comfortable to wear, and keeps lips feeling hydrated, too. For more packaging photos Coach Outlet, please see this post. My lips are always happy when a Rouge Automatique is on the swatching docket!

Guerlain Habit Rouge (123) Rouge Automatique Lipstick

Guerlain Habit Rouge (123) Rouge Automatique Lipstick ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a vibrant orange-toned red with a subtle sheen. It delivers full color coverage in one pass, and because of the intensity of the red, it wears for eight hours and still looks good. The orange undertones in this shade are subtle, though, but they are distinctly there.  Clarins Red Prodige is more orange, less deep. Make Up For Ever #44 is just a touch more neutral. CoverGirl Hot is similar but more vibrant. Chanel Excessive is also more orange and vibrant. Chanel Gabrielle is brighter and more orange.

MAC Eyeshadow Swatches – Teals & Blues

MAC’s matte eyeshadows have a drier texture, and they often perform better in actual application than merely swatched on the arm.  Shades like Aqua, Plumage, and Prussian don’t always swatch perfectly but Plumage and Prussian work better when applied.  Aqua is a finicky shade that sometimes works but not consistently, and the product itself seems to be inconsistent–some pans are better than others.

  • Newly Minted is a green-based teal with a matte finish. It had a Matte2 finish, but it was discontinued. Make Up For Ever #93 comes the closest–it’s a little brighter but has better color payoff.
  • Shimmermoss is a blue-teal with a silvery sheen. It has a veluxe pearl finish. Milani Teal the Truth is similar in color but a touch darker, while
  • Aquadisiac is a green-tinged aqua blue with a soft sheen. It has a lustre finish. Make Up For Ever #168 is the only dupe I could think of, but it’s much darker and not so much an aqua.
  • Aqua is a soft aqua blue with a matte finish. It’s a little powdery and can look chalky on some complexions. Milani Caribbean Sea is similar in color, though a little darker and shimmery. Inglot #345 has a similar lightness but leans greener.
  • Plumage is a blackened blue with just a hint of green. It has a matte finish. Inglot #340 is not quite as dark, but it is very similar in color and more pigmented.
  • Prussian is a dark navy blue with a Matte2 finish. It has been discontinued. Make Up For Ever #60 is the closest shade I could think of, but it is much darker and not quite as blue.
  • Deep Truth is a dark blue with a frost finish. This is a shade with a fair amount of dupes/cousins. Just to name a few: Make Up For Ever #308, Milani Blue My Mind, and Inglot #428.
  • Freshwater is a bright, medium blue with a veluxe pearl finish. Inglot #426 is similar, a little darker. Make Up For Ever #167 is also similar but a bit darker.
  • Blue Calm is a brightened, medium blue with a veluxe pearl finish. It is a PRO shade. It’s just a smidgen lighter than Freshwater (and thus is a smidgen lighter than the comparables listed for Freshwater).
  • Electric Eel is a bright but darkened cyan blue with a satin finish. Inglot #371 is very similar. Urban Decay Electric is slightly less blue. Make Up For Ever #72 is darker.
  • Sky Blue is a pale, pastel blue with a white sheen. It has a frost finish and was a PRO shade but is no longer available. Make Up For Ever #150 is very similar. Cle de Peau #112 is also similar but a little lighter.
  • Winkle is a cornflower blue, almost periwinkle, with a satin finish. It is similar to Inglot #369.
  • Moon’s Reflection is a purple-tinged blue with a silvery-white sheen. It has a veluxe pearl finish. The closest color I could think of was Inglot #429, which leans more on the purple side and has a brighter white sheen.
  • Atlantic Blue is a deep, intense cobalt blue with a hint of indigo. It has a matte finish and is a PRO shade. Make Up For Ever #159 is similar but has less violet in it, while Inglot #388 is a little darker and has less blue.

Here are several swatches of MAC eyeshadows from the green family (mostly permanent shades) that are now part of The Swatch Gallery.

Atlantic Blue is one of the best matte shades by MAC, because it’s so intense.  Shades like Deep Truth, Freshwater Coach Outlet, and Electric Eel are classic blues–all three lovely in color payoff and texture.  Electric Eel has all the hallmarks of a matte but it has a satin finish, so it’s easier to work with.  Sky Blue can be tricky to work with, similar to Aqua’s issues.

It’s a shame that a shade like Newly Minted gets discontinued, though, because it’s not a shade you see often.  (Or, for the older MAC fans, Melody!)

OCC Poison Loose Colour Concentrate

OCC Poison Loose Colour Concentrate ($12.00 for 0.088 oz.) is described as “primordial forest green.” It launches tomorrow as part of the brand’s fall/winter collection. Poison is a sultry, smoked out forest green with a dark, blackened base with hints of brown around the edges all finished in a frosted, metallic shimmer-sheen. Whether it’s used wet or dry Coach Outlet Online, I had great results: rich color payoff and a smooth application. I absolutely love with a loose eyeshadow works as well dry as it does wet; to me, that is the mark of a truly excellent formula and overall product.  The closest colors I could think of were Inglot #414 (lighter, appears almost teal-tinged) and Make Up For Ever #80 which is closer in color but less metallic.

Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani #3 Smooth Silk Eyeliner

The Glossover

The wear is good, though, despite shortcomings in payoff (at least it’s buildable), lasting nine hours on the lower lash line before it begins to look a little faded. It’s soft, creamy Coach Outlet Online, and glides on well. I find the texture rather comparable to Urban Decay’s 24/7 Eyeliners; creamy enough to move along the lash line with ease and without tugging or pulling on the lid but not so creamy it migrates everywhere.

Where to Buy: Giorgio Armani, $27

Giorgio Armani #3 Smooth Silk Eyeliner

It’s a gorgeous blackened navy blue with a hint of indigo in it. It could be more pigmented, because it takes a couple of passes to get solid, intense color; a single pass yields color but nothing opaque. I couldn’t think of a dupe for this, even after looking at all these navy blue eyeliners–it is much darker with less blue in it than many potential dupes.

Giorgio Armani #3 Smooth Silk Eyeliner ($27.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described simply as “navy.” The Smooth Silk formula is supposed to be soft with rich color. The pencil also includes a tapered sponge for smudging on the opposite end of the pencil tip.  The smudger is flexible and soft without being rough.

NARS Ramatuelle Eyeshadow Trio

The middle shade is a soft, pale peach with a satiny sheen–it’s a little more amped up and reflective than your average satin, though. The color payoff is good, though there is a touch of sheerness to the color. Tarina Tarantino Delightful has a shade that’s a few shades darker. Inglot #328 is similar in color but is darker. Inglot #330 is very close in color but has a matte finish.

This should be very flattering on warm and neutral skin tones, and cooler complexions should still be able to wear this, because of the inclusion of gray as well as the softer, lighter feel of the other two distinctly warm shades.

The last shade is a warm, muted orange with a matte finish. This shade was also on the sheerer side, but I didn’t have any problem getting it to show up closer to opaque color when I applied it on the lid, which is not an uncommon result with matte textures. Dolce & Gabbana Cocoa has a shade that’s a bit richer, darker, more orange. MAC Fresh Daily is deeper, brighter. MAC Rule is more orange, darker. Inglot #368 is more tangerine.

The first shade is a light gray with a silver shimmer and subtle silver metallic sheen. It has good color payoff–there’s an underlying sheerness in the swatch, but it is more pigmented when applied to the eye. Tarina Tarantino Lovely has a similar shade that’s a touch lighter and frostier. Guerlain Les Aquas has a similar shade, which has a more metallic finish.

NARS Ramatuelle Eyeshadow Trio
NARS Ramatuelle Eyeshadow Trio

NARS Ramatuelle Eyeshadow Trio ($45.00 for 0.15 oz.) consists of a “silver, icy peach, [and] matte apricot” as described by the brand. This is the only limited edition product within the summer collection. I like how NARS’ trios are packaged with three individual wells, which means that there’s less cross-contamination from excess powder. The downside is that the trios are only 0.15 oz., whereas their duos are 0.14 oz.–but the duos are only $34, which is a $11 difference!

NARS’ eyeshadow formula is supposed to be long-wearing, crease-resistant, and highly-pigmented according to their website (and it still drives me batty that they have it listed as “highly-pigminted“).  NARS’ eyeshadow formula can also be used wet or dry, depending on your preferences.   I applied the light gray shade to the very inner tearduct, pale peach to the inner half of the lid, and the orange shade on the outer half of the lid and into the crease to test out the wear.   Without a primer, it wore for eight hours without creasing and just very minor fading around the edges.  All three shades were easy to apply and blend together; the matte shade is very workable and while it feels dry Coach Outlet, it’s just as blendable as the shimmery shades.

Kanye West is Totes In Love With Kim Kardashian

Kanye West unexpectedly dropped a new song last night.  It’s called “Thera-flu,” which, after you listen to it, sounds like a not so veiled reference to the therapy he gets from rapping about his life instead of free publicity for the cold medicine.  As our friend Chris Black tweeted, “The new Kanye song sounds like it was written by an editor at US Weekly.”

Apparently, when Amber Rose broke up with West she suspected he was actually in love with Kim Kardashian.  And yes, this was around the time that Kim was marrying Kris, but as we now know http://coachoutlet.altervista.org/, that union wasn’t meant to be.  Flash forward to last month, Kim was on in Paris for Kanye’s show rocking those beaded Guissepe Zanotti heels and sending the rumor mill into overdrive yet again. So on “Theraflu,” West raps, “The only n*&%@ I got respect for is Wiz, and I’ll admit I fell in love with Kim, around the same time she’d a fell in love with him. Well that’s cool baby girl do your thang http://coachoutlet.altervista.org/, lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team…”  Of the infamous shoes http://coachoutlet.altervista.org/, he adds, “$6000 pair of shoes http://coachoutlet.altervista.org/, I made it to the Paris news.”

So will Kim and Kanye hook up and live happily ever after?  The tabloids can only hope!  As for the other pressing question, yes, he does rap about Thera-flu.  “Way too cold I promise you need some Thera-flu, get the Thera-flu…”  There’s an Anja Rubik reference, too.  Click here to listen to the whole thing.

Jockey coach outlet online
Tim Tebow’s not really making a good case for tighty-whities.  If the man hired to model the underwear doesn’t want to show it off, who will? We have a feeling Cruz might attract the attention the brand needs to keep men away from boxers.

Citizens of Humanity
True Religion scored Chanel model Brad Koenig for spring and Seven for All Mankind let James Franco run wild for their latest campaign; it’s time for Citizens of Humanity to get back in the game coach outlet online, and who better to help than a Superbowl winning coach outlet online, fashion loving, salsa dancing football player?

Prada
Miuccia’s shown a growing interest in celebrity.  First she cast Tobey Maguire in her men’s campaign, then Michael Pitt, and this season her men’s collection was modeled by actors like Gary Oldman and Adrien Brody.  Why not throw an athlete into the mix?

Within hours of the Giants Superbowl win on Sunday, the team’s wide receiver, Victor Cruz coach outlet online, was signed to IMG.  His first duty?  Cutting the ribbon to kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week here in New York.  Though the player, who’s known for dancing a salsa in the end zone every time he scores a touchdown, has turned down a spot on Dancing With the Stars, his signing with the agency indicates an interest in landing a campaign or two.  Forgoing the obvious for a moment—sporting goods, cars, watches—let’s speculate on what else he might model.
