Would You Wear… Flatforms?

Flatforms
Flatforms on the Spring/Summer 2011 runway at Derek Lam, 3.1 Philip Lim Louis Vuitton bags, and Michael Kors.

Since most of us are used to heels getting higher and higher each season louis vuitton handbags, the latest spring shoe trend is a drastic change in direction. Essentially authentic louis vuitton, flatforms are?level platforms. As opposed to platform heels, where the ball of your foot is much lower than the heel, with flatforms, it’s like you’re wearing flats… only taller!

On the plus side, these stacked heels give you the height you’re looking for without the pain of heels Louis Vuitton outlet online, but on the other hand, some might question the appearance. Personally louis vuitton purses, I think this seems too high fashion to translate well onto college campuses across the globe.?But then again, who would have thought jeggings would become a staple?

In case you’re looking for some flatforms for your own wardrobe, I’ve found a few relatively budget-friendly pairs. The trend hasn’t caught on yet with many affordable stores, so here are the best ones I could find online right now. I’m sure if this trend catches on, cheaper stores will start making ultra-inexpensive versions in no time.

This look is very new, so it raises a lot of questions.

Diary of a Fashion School Student- Ten Awesome Per

Diary of a Fashion School Student: Ten Awesome Perks of Attending FIDM

1. The Fashion Library

In every school library, you’re bound to see hoards of students hunched over books with iPods while they study. I assure you that FIDM is no exception, but while most college students struggle with calculus and bury their faces in textbooks, FIDM students are working on sketching and studying designs.

And did you know that FIDM has the largest fashion library in the West? I’ll be honest: when I toured FIDM the first time, the fashion library’s collection of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue magazines sold me on the school. Any educational institution that has all of the issues of these magazines from the 19th and 20th century is the place for me. Hours and hours just seem to disappear in the?section of vintage periodicals…

Among my favorite features of the library include: the video room, where you can check out many of your favorite movies and TV shows; the draping room, in which design students can practice draping; the periodicals room, an absolute wonder for lovers of vintage fashion; and the textile library, where you can come to clip textiles for your projects. Also, any FIDM student who doesn’t take advantage of the newspaper clipping files is missing out! They have entire file folders dedicated to styles, designers and other fashion keywords that have articles from nearly every magazine or newspaper.

2. Trend Forecasting Services and Other Subscriptions

Access to trend forecasting services and fashion databases is one of the biggest perks of being a FIDM student. Unless you work for a major fashion institution, it’s tough to gain access to many of these major subscriptions because memberships can cost tens of thousands of dollars. Fortunately, FIDM students have access to Doneger Creative Services, WGSN, Women’s Wear Daily, Stylesight, LexisNexis, and plenty more!

Trend forecasting services are also available to students in book form and usually predict fashion, color and style trends two to three years in advance. The books are absolutely stunning and contain sketches Coach Outlet Canada online store, photographs and sample textiles to describe what will be popular in the coming seasons. Major designers look at these books in order to get ideas for their future lines, so FIDM students are very lucky to be able to use these books for inspiration! Just the other day, I was learning about trends for women’s lingerie and men’s footwear for Fall/Winter 2012-2013. How exciting!

3. Student Activities

FIDM Student Activities

Every week, FIDM produces a newsletter full of student activities. And I must say, our student activities department is awesome. Not only do they offer half-price movie and sports tickets, they have events all the time Louis Vuitton 2012! Whether it’s the Rockettes appearing on campus to dance (pictured above-right), ultimate student Halloween costume showdowns (pictured above left), or student mixers, there’s always something going on! Even if you just want to hang out, there’s always candy and plenty of super-sweet people to chat with in the student activity department.

What’s going on?in the coming weeks,?you ask? The FIDM mask-decorating party for Mardi Gras, FIDM Feud, and a clothing drive for the homeless are just a few of the many activities for students to look forward to.

4. The IDEA Center

Let me just start by clearing up one big misconception about the school – classes at FIDM are hard. From my own experience, the Merchandise Math class has been the most difficult class for me. But in order to keep students from struggling through their classes alone, FIDM offers free tutoring for every class in the IDEA center. Even if you just need help with MLA guidelines or formatting a paper, the IDEA center is always happy to help students out.

5. The Diverse Campuses

FIDM Campuses

FIDM is not only located in Los Angeles – in fact, there are four campuses for students to choose from! LA’s location is by far the biggest, but FIDM also operates in Orange County coach handbags outlet online, San Diego and San Francisco. The other campuses offer very limited programs, though, so students usually have to switch to the LA campus after their first year.

The Los Angeles Campus is centrally located in downtown LA. It’s within walking distance to the Fashion District and California Market Center, LA Live?(Nokia Theater, Staples Center, Convention Hall) and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Since San Francisco?is home to the headquarters of numerous fashion brands including The Gap, Inc, the San Fran campus is ideal for anyone looking to work in corporate for one of those big box brands.

Orange County is the home of many major manufacturers, making that campus a perfect fit for someone looking to attend FIDM and work for a major sportswear company. Orange County is also known for its luxury shopping, so it is an ideal spot to work in retail.

The San Diego campus focuses strongly on students interested in international product development or textiles, because of the city’s port.

6. Debut Runway Show

FIDM Debut Runway Show

Just last week I received my ticket for the FIDM Debut Runway Show on March 18th. This is an annual runway show that FIDM puts on for students and industry insiders. Last year I went as a prospective student and was floored by the designs. Students from many majors are featured in the show, but the top priority is the third-year fashion design team.

More than 10,000 people attend this three-night event and I promise you that if you ever get a chance to go, it will be one of the most memorable fashion events of your life. It’s just another perk of attending FIDM!

7. Study Tours

A few times a year, FIDM students have the opportunity to travel with their peers to places like New York City, Paris, Milan and Rome. They get to tour companies in these cities, sight-see and visit with other FIDM grads now living in those cities. FIDM even offers foreign exchange programs for one quarter for eligible students Coach Outlet!

8. FIDM Museum & Gallery

FIDM Museum Exhibit

Just the other day, The 19th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibit opened at the FIDM Museum & Galleries. I was able to browse?through the costumes featured in most of the top movies from 2010, including The King’s Speech, True Grit, Burlesque, Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky, and?Alice in Wonderland (whose FIDM-grad?costume designer?won the Oscar on Sunday). And this is just one example – the museum’s exhibits vary throughout the year and they’re always bringing in designers to speak to students. Shows are always free and always worth seeing.

In my first quarter, I discovered the permanent museum collections, another awesome aspect of FIDM’s museum. My 20th Century Design teacher brought in a rack of vintage Chanel, Dior and Galliano to show to my class. After undergoing numerous heart palpitations, I learned that over 12,000 costumes, textiles and accessories from the 18th century to present day are available for FIDM students to view and study. Pretty cool, right?

9. The Career Center

The fashion industry is all about networking and who you know, and access to those fashion industry connections was the #1 reason why I chose to attend FIDM. The Career Center is very well-connected with industry insiders and always available to help students with any job issues. Whether they’re holding career fairs, coaching?students through practice interviews, or helping them finding jobs, the Career Center is an invaluable student resource. They even continue to help with any job needs after you’ve left school, as long as your job is still fashion-related!

10. The Little Perks

FIDM Perks

Okay, this isn’t exactly a tenth perk of attending FIDM – instead, this last list item is all about the little things that make FIDM so great.

The other day, my Applied Trend Forecasting class took a field trip to the “New Mart,” a building full of showrooms for buyers to see clothing and place their orders. We even got to go to the Calvin Klein showroom and talk to a Sales Rep! Even though I quickly learned that being a Sales Rep is not the?career for me,?I had the greatest time there. Seeing firsthand how the industry operates and what high-end showrooms are like is an absolute wonder.

Also, as a huge fangirl of the TV shows Mad Men and Deadwood,?I?was beyond?gleeful when?my Consumer Behavior & Research teacher alerted?the class?that we were going to see the head of costume design on both of those shows! Janie Bryant, author of The Fashion File and head costume director of Mad Men, was at FIDM to speak to a handful of classes. Her knowledge of the industry was remarkable, and I was even able to ask her a question! It sounds so cheesy, but that experience was truly one of the greatest of my college career.

Finally, imagine the excitement of a Fashion Sketching class when a Lady Gaga impersonator walked in! As seen in the photo above, she was the subject of their sketches for the day.

Whether it’s field trips, meeting industry insiders Coach Outlet Store, or sketching Lady Gaga, FIDM always has exciting surprises for its students. And these little things are what truly make me love this school the most.

What do you think of my favorite bits about FIDM?

Do you think this is a school you could see yourself at? What do you think of FIDM’s non-traditional curriculum and resources? Do you have any questions about FIDM or fashion school? What kinds of articles would you like to see me write for this column in the future? Make sure to leave a comment with your thoughts!

How to Wear the Colored Denim Trend

How to Wear the Colored Denim Trend

Colored denim

Virtually overnight, colored denim has become the biggest trend to hit the streets. Personally, I love the trend — it’s a great way to switch up your denim uniform, and the bright, cheerful colors are perfect for spring and summer! As with any trend, though, figuring out how to wear it (without spending a ton of money) can always be a problem.

Well, let CF take the guesswork out of it! Below, I’ve come up with four awesome ways to rock candy-colored jeans with items that are probably already in your closet. Read on, ladies Coach Handbags Outlet!

1. Try It with a Neutral

You can never go wrong when pairing any colored (or patterned!) pair of pants with a black, white, cream, brown, or tan top. Any pair of bright jeans would look awesome with a white button-down dress shirt, a sheer black silk shirt, or a cream-colored cardigan sweater. This technique is a good way to feel out your new pants and ease into wearing them.

For the example outfit below, I paired coral skinnies with a chambray top — it’s like a regular denim-and-pastel outfit, with a twist! Because the base of the outfit is so classic looking, don’t be afraid to add a few bold accessories, like a snakeskin bag and turquoise jewelry. Finish with a pair of fun wedges and you’re good to go!

How to wear colored denim - Outfit 1: Orange jeans, chambray shirt, espadrille wedges, cross-body bag, turquoise ring
Pants, Shirt, Shoes, Purse, Ring

2. Colorblock

Colorblocking – which means pairing solid-colored discount louis vuitton handbags, bright pieces together – has been such a hot trend over the past few seasons. It’s a bold style move for sure, but here at CF, we are never afraid to take on a challenge. (We’ve written about the trend?here, here, and here before, and we even have a series dedicated to unusual color combinations.)

If you’re unsure about which color combos to try, see our guide to matching colors in your outfits. But really, so long as you pair your colored jeans with another solid, bold color, you’ll look trendy and fun, not clash-y.

When colorblocking, I think it looks the coolest when you combine pastels with other pastels, and bolder colors with other bolds. In the example outfit below, notice that the three colors are all equally bold. Since the outfit is a loud statement on its own, finish the look with classic accessories, like pearl stud earrings and a classic investment timepiece.

How to wear colored denim - Outfit 2: Purple jeans, orange bow blouse, neon pink heels, menswear watch, pearl studs
Pants, Shirt, Shoes, Watch, Earrings

3. Pair It with a Print

Another fun way to rock your colored jeans is to pair them with a bold print. Polka dots, nautical stripes, floral prints, and geometric prints would all look really trendy and playful!

For this outfit below, I thought mint green pants would look awesome paired with a leopard print blouse. The chocolate and black tones make the green look extra bright! Again Louis Vuitton outlet online, keep your accessories somewhat simple — crystal earrings and a mint colored bangle will look fancy, but not over-the-top. Finish with ballet flats and some pink lipstick for extra brightness!

How to wear colored denim - Outfit 3: Green jeans, leopard blouse, black flats, statement earrings
Pants, Shirt, Bangle, Shoes, Earrings, Lipstick

4. Add a Springtime Jacket

The sun might be up and the sky might be blue, but for most of us, April and May weather can be unexpectedly chilly. A great way to wear your colored jeans during this transition time is to pair them with a light jacket. A jean jacket, light trench coat, cardigan, or blazer will look season-appropriate, and keep you protected from harsh winds or light rain.

For the outfit below, I paired light pink jeans with a white blazer. A floral shirt will look cute peeking out from under the jacket. Depending on what sort of event you’re going to, pair the look with heels or ballet flats. This snappy casual outfit is perfect for lunching with parents, a date louis vuitton designer bags, class, or even just running errands!

Pants, Jacket, Shirt, Shoes, Necklace

What Do You Think?

Do you have a pair of colored jeans yet? What are your favorite things to wear with them? Do you think this trend will be back next year, or is it more of a one-season sort of trend? Do you colorblock very often? What other styling challenges or problems have you run into lately? Leave a comment and tell us what you think Coach Outlet Online Sale!

Fashion Challenge- Wear Something from Your Mom&#8

Fashion Challenge: Wear Something from Your Mom’s Closet

Stylish celebrity moms and daughters

This week’s Fashion Challenge dares you to gain inspiration from someone near and dear to your heart — your Mom! Full of wisdom, grace, and beauty, there’s no better source than a mother (or grandmother, guardian, or mother figure) for tips on looking great. Think about it: your mom’s not afraid to be honest with you, knows you better than most people, and probably has a closet full of clothing that spans across decades. Who better to talk fashion with?

Since it’s summer and many of us are home, I thought this week would be the perfect time to explore the wardrobe of your mom, grandmother, stylish aunt, or strong female figure in your life. Are you ready to take this challenge?!

Example Items to Borrow from Mom

Need some inspiration to get you started on this challenge? I’ve compiled a list of six types of items you might want to borrow from your mom, grandma, or other stylish woman in your life to get you inspired and thinking about the possibilities!

1. Something from Her Style Past

Outfits inspired by mom

Before my mom was her velour-suit-wearing, chihuahua-toting, adorable self, she had a passion for leather pants and velvet mini dresses, which I’m happy to borrow on a regular basis! One tip to making this challenge work is to? take something unique from your mom’s past and use it in an outfit for yourself.

Did your mom rule the dance floor at Studio 54? Borrow a pair of her sky-high heels cheap louis vuitton bags! Did she follow the Grateful Dead for months and sell veggie burritos out of the back of her VW van? Ask to try on her favorite concert t-shirt! Not only will you have a great new piece to wear, but you’ll also have some wonderful bonding moments learning about her days before you came into the picture.

The key to incorporating a great piece from your mother’s past into a wearable outfit is to pair it with current items you have. This keeps it from looking dated or costume-esque. Be sure to model your new creation for her–it’ll be a great trip down memory lane for her as well!

2. Designer Goodies

Mom's designer goodies - Louis Vuitton bags, watches, Louboutins

Moms and grandmas tend to have the best collections of designer items. If you ask really nicely (and offer to do the dishes for a week), perhaps your mother will let you borrow that Louis Vuitton speedy or Pucci scarf you’ve been eyeballing. Be sure to take extra good care of whatever you borrow so she lets you use it again!

3. Something from Her Culture

Cultural fashion

Many of us have mothers who are originally from another country. A great way to show your ethnic pride is by wearing something traditional from your mother’s culture! While looking through her closet, ask her to tell you some stories from her life experience. These pieces are great conversation starters and will really add some richness to your wardrobe.

4. Straight from the Source Vintage Pieces

Novelty and vintage fashion items

As we’ve all witnessed, fashion repeats itself. Why go out and spend money on a denim vest or bubble skirt when there is probably an incredible one right down the hall? While looking through my mom’s closet nfl jerseys cheap, I found bolo ties, old school Reeboks Coach Outlet Store, floral dresses, Dr. Martens, and the cutest bright colored heels!! These authentic vintage items will add some real character to your wardrobe.

5. Heirlooms

Heirloom fashion pieces- furs, diamonds, etc.

Have a special occasion? If you promise to be very careful, your mom might let you borrow her string of pearls, favorite pair of earrings cheap louis vuitton, or a cocktail ring for the occasion. Personally, I choose not to wear real fur, but my mom has the softest faux-fur shrugs that I love running my fingers through! The point of borrowing an heirloom piece should be because of its sentimental value, not its price tag. Even if it’s a gumball machine ring her great grandma handed down to her, wear it with pride!

6. Beauty Products

Mom's makeup

I don’t know about you, but I know my mom is my go-to source for finding the best moisturizer for my skin type, finding out what the best blush for the money is, and learning tips to keep my skin looking young! If you’re lucky, maybe your mom can give you tips on what products are worth the splurge, and which products you can buy from the drugstore. Ask to sample her eye cream, perfume, or ask if she knows any homemade beauty recipes you two can try together.

A college fashionista from the University of Maryland College Park

“I wore this outfit for a night out in Georgetown, DC. In the photo, I am wearing a vintage cotton striped “pirate sleeve” blouse from my mom. She told me that she used to rock this shirt with classic high waisted Levi’s. However, I opted to balance out the voluminous top by wearing a modern high-waisted item: black shorts from Zara. I am also wearing two necklaces from Nordstrom (a strand of turquoise and a gold one with beads).”

“I have never received so many compliments on a shirt before! (Although, I couldn’t tell if the guys who said nice things were joking or not because the shirt felt more conservative than overtly sexy.)”

I Tried It… Konad Nail Stamping

I Tried It… Konad Nail Stamping

Konad Nail Stamping System

I remember my first manicure vividly – I was in 5th grade and had just gotten braces, and my mom took me to the nail salon to try to cheer me up. I loved everything about the experience – especially my bright, sky-blue nails.

Fast-forward seven years to my senior year of high school, where I spent 30 minutes at the drugstore searching for the perfect neon coral-pink polish – even though the polish is totally old, I still can’t bring myself to throw away the bottle.

One more nail polish story: I’m best friends with my freshman-year dorm neighbor – who now admits she started talking to me only because she loved my yellow nails.

Anyway, I’ve always been a fan of bold nail choices. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no skill when it comes to nail art – like, I even screw up doing simple polka dots. I thought that nail art would be forever lost on me, especially since I don’t want to pay extra at the already-pricey salon.

Enter… Konad Nail Stamping

konad4
source

A few weeks ago, while browsing HelloGiggles, I came across an article talking about nail stamping. I watched the video with mild interest but thought it was one of those things that would take a lot of practice to master. The next day I was browsing MakeupAlley (which I am kind of addicted to,) looking at nail products when I saw that Konad had a 98% “Buy Again” rate- and let me tell you, nothing on MakeupAlley has that high of a Buy Again rate, not even cult favorites.

40 minutes, and exactly $40.91 later, I had purchased two special polishes (white and black for about $6 each from Amazon,) a double-sided stamper and scraper ($6.75 from Amazon,) and a set of 25 nail plates ($22 from Bundle Monster from Amazon,) and a week later I had my entire nail stamping system.

My Experience with Konad Nail Stamping

My first try with Konad nail stamping
my first try, over Essie Coat Azure, captured via my computer’s camera

I read a ton of reviews and watched a couple Youtube videos before trying it, so I kind-of knew what I was doing. This video is a great first-time video example-not by me.

Basically, you apply nail polish to a metal plate etched with designs on it, scrape the extra polish off with a scraper (or old giftcard,) stamp the stamper on the plate so it gets the image, then stamp it on your nail.

For my first time, I decided to play around with different designs. I’d read reviews of the Bundle Monster plates that said that some weren’t etched deeply enough, so three or four of the 15 designs I tried didn’t transfer to the stamp. Overall, my first try went pretty well- you can see it above. I wouldn’t say my nails looked good, as some of the designs weren’t 100% on my nail and others were lopsided, but it was really easy to get into the groove of doing this.

It took me about 25 minutes to do the designs themselves as I had to play with the amount of polish to put on the plate Coach Outlet Stores, the best way to scrape it off and how long I could wait when I stamped it on, but I was honestly surprised at how easy it was.

My Review

Konad nail stamping results
My 4th, 5th, and 6th tries, using OPI Italian Love Affair, OPI Do You Lilac It and OPI Mermaid’s Tears with Konad White on top

Alright, guys Cheap Coach Handbags, it’s been about two months since I bought the Konad ‘system’ and I am absolutely hooked – there are so many designs to choose from!

I’m having so much fun with animal print coach factory outlet, fishnet print, shatter print… you name it, this pack of plates has it. Seriously, I’ve used it so much that I’m almost out of white Konad polish! I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been stopped and asked about my nails – the cashiers at CVS know me as “the girl with cool nails.” If you’re the kind of girl that will spend that extra 10-20 minutes per manicure to get the look, then I absolutely, 100% recommend this.

Now that I’ve gotten the hang of it – which happened after 5-6 tries – it takes me 15 minutes from set-up to clean up, and I do these all the time! After using this about a dozen times, here are some more suggestions I have when using it:

  • First, make sure to have 100% pure acetone nail polish remover. (Sometimes it’s called ‘professional polish remover.) In between cleaning the stamper and the plates, you go through a lot of this stuff: In 12-15 applications I’ve gone through 1/3rd of a 16-ounce bottle. I bought mine at CVS for $4.95.
  • Do this on a flat surface – I was used to doing my nails on my bed or a couch, but you definitely need a flat surface, like a table or desk, to do this on – even a sturdy textbook won’t cut it.
  • Grab a ton of old gift cards or credit cards to use as scrapers – I have two or three that I use solely for this purpose and I think they work just as well, if not better, than the Konad scraper.
  • Make sure to lay a bunch of paper towels out, and have toilet paper/cotton balls on hand to wipe off the plate and stamper.
  • You’ll probably need to buy the special Konad polishes – they are very goopy and won’t dry as fast as regular polish. I only say probably because if you have old, goopy polish then it could work for stamping – play around with your stash. Metallic polishes also work. (I’ve had moderate success with Orly’s Luxe but the black and white special polishes work much better.)
  • Stamp your nails after you’re done putting polish on and before you use a topcoat. Also, when you use a topcoat Louis Vuitton Handbags, put a generous layer on, as a thin coat can ruin some of the designs
  • Try to think of a quick way to explain this to people who ask about your nails – it will happen coach outlet, and I still don’t have a fast way of explaining it. “It’s, uh, this, stamping thing, called Konad?” is not really cutting it.
So, what do you guys think?

Will you be buying Konad’s nail stamper? Have you tried it before? What did you think? And how do you explain it to others? Tell me tell me tell me in the comments!

Greek Fashion – How to Dress Like Casey Cart

Greek Fashion – How to Dress Like Casey Cartwright

Casey Cartwright from Greek

In addition to The Vampire Diaries and One Tree Hill, one of the most-requested TV series among CF readers has been Greek! We’ve received your emails and comments, and, in response, today we’re launching our new series on fashion from the popular show.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Greek, here’s a rundown: The ABC Family comedy-drama series follows the lives of college students living and dating while being part of their school’s Greek system. The show was a hit for four seasons but, sadly, has come to an end: The series finale aired on March 7th.

Already missing your Greek fix? Never fear! Over the weeks to come, I’ll break down the styles of some of your favorite Greek characters. First up is Casey Cartwright, a sister in the (fictitious) ZBZ sorority, and one of the main characters on the show. As you’ll see below, she has a super cute wardrobe that’s easy for college students to emulate.

Casey’s Style

A preppy sorority girl through-and-through, Casey has a style that is chic and classic, while still being youthful and fun. Printed blouses, cardigans and skirts in pretty pastels are her closet staples.

The trick to emulating Casey’s pretty, sophisticated style is to find the perfect balance of classic prep and trend-conscious dressing. Also, Casey’s style is very put-together: She’s not a girl to be seen in her boyfriend’s sweatpants and a t-shirt. Finally, for her day and night looks Discount Coach Handbags, it’s all about youthful femininity.

Pretty Blouses

Aside from her collection of ZBZ t-shirts, Casey doesn’t really rock “casual” staples. Her idea of casual wear involves silky blouses, pretty floral tops and patterned tanks. Although floral tops aren’t a new trend, Casey has a certain way of pulling them together with other pieces to create a modern look.

To emulate her style, tuck your blouse into a fitted skirt or a pair of khaki shorts. Nip your waist in with a skinny belt and you’ll be the epitome of casual chic.

Classic Cardigans

There really isn’t a better match for a silky blouse than a lush cardigan. And Casey knows this – almost all of her outfits include a sweater or cardigan of some sort, usually in a pattern or color that complements her top.

Although cardigans are a favorite of older generations, they can also be youthful and playful authentic coach outlet online, a fact that’s evident in Casey’s looks. To channel Casey, opt for sweaters in fun colors or patterns Gucci Borsa, and don’t be afraid to mix and match prints. A floral top in light pastels, worn with the Forever 21 striped cardigan below would be an adorable, Casey-esque combination!

Sweaters
Product Information: Top Row – Charlotte Russe, Old Navy, Old Navy, Old Navy; Bottom Row – dElias, Old Navy, Old Navy, Forever 21

Preppy Bottoms

Now that we’ve discussed tops, it’s time to add the last piece of the preppy Coach Outlet Online, sorority girl look – khaki or twill shorts. Unlike the California look of the 90210 girls, Casey favors chinos over denim cut-offs. The trick to making these types of bottoms work is to avoid cuts that are too loose or long, as they tend to look matronly.

For shorts, opt for a pair that hits right above mid-thigh, and that fits you well through your hips and waist. The same trick goes goes for skirts. Whether khaki, plaid or twill, your skirt should be conservative but still youthful.

To achieve Casey’s look, all that’s left to do is tuck your blouse in, add a pretty skinny belt and throw on a cardigan!

Bottoms
Product Information: Top Row – Forever 21, Old Navy, Old Navy, dElias; Bottom Row – Old Navy, Old Navy, Old Navy

Tying it All Together

Casey’s style is quintessential collegiate prep, which perfectly reflects her responsible and classy disposition. The great thing about Casey’s style is that it is easy to emulate with you existing wardrobe. Next time you’re getting dressed, tuck your top into your skirt and add a classy cardigan. The small gesture is an instant outfit-changer.

Your thoughts?

What do you think of Casey’s style? Do you favor her style over those of the other television characters that have been featured? I love to hear your feedback and comments each week – be sure to leave a comment!
